Spade. People know what to expect when they hear my last name. Billionaire. Alphahole. The forever bachelor. Heir to Spade Hotels, one of the most luxurious brands in the world. Want to know what they would never call me? Boyfriend. Until her. With one glance at her in the club, Im ready to claim her for the night. Dark, flowing hair. A smile that causes my heart to pound. Eyes that pierce my soul. And a perfect body that makes every part of me pulse. Shes addictive. Electrifying. Consuming. Ive never wanted anyone more. Our eyes meet, but she looks right past me. She isnt here for me. Shes here for the music. For the first time in my life, a woman makes me work for it. Her indifference fuels the fire inside me. The result? One night. No names. No introductions. Just pleasure. The way Ive always liked it. But now, I find myself fantasizing about this gorgeous stranger, and I swear I can still feel the softness of her skin and taste her on my lips. The minute I saw her, a switch flipped inside me. Now, how do I stop this ragingobsession? When our paths cross again in the most unexpected way, Im on a mission to make her mine. But what happens when she wants nothing to do with me? This is #1 of The Spade series by Marni Mann and I have read most of this author's books which I have really enjoyed as she draws delicious MCs and Macon is no exception!

Unfortunately I was disappointed with this one due to too much sex to overcome the lack of plot - just think of Maid in Manhatten and add a bit of hotel management and there you have it! The ending also sorta petered out. Pity!

It was nice, however, to get a glimpse of the Dalton brothers albeit fleetingly and the #dualnarration by #ThorThom and #SavannahPeachwood was excellent 👌

if you like steam then this has plenty of spice. I really liked the story but sadly for me it felt it lacked the depth it deserved. I feel the author could have delved into the male leads past more to make the sudden change more impactive. I do like a bit of angst as my personal preference which ends in a happy ending but again it felt quick, skipped over and lacked the depth that could have been put into these areas of the story. I didn't feel the connection with the characters like I have other books. The narrators are fantastic, but it's just an ok book for me, sadly. not sure I'll invest the time to listen to the others in the series as a result.

good concept but lacked depth
