About this listen

Brought to you by Penguin.

From the million-copy #1 New York Times bestselling author of Every Summer After and Meet Me at the Lake, Carley Fortune returns with a glorious and tantalising new escape
Every summer forces Felix and Lucy to be together but they shouldn’t be. Can they resist temptation?

This summer they’ll keep their promise. This summer they won't give into temptation. This summer will be different.

The first time Lucy and Felix met she was on vacation on Prince Edward Island. And a tour of the beaches wasn’t the only thing he showed her. But when she discovered his true identity as her best friend, Bridget’s brother, their electric night should have become a distant memory…

Each year with Lucy and Bridget’s return for a summer escape, she promises herself she won’t end up in Felix’s arms, but it’s easier said than done.

Not this year though. This year it will be different. With Bridget facing the biggest crisis of her life, Lucy must join her for one last trip to the island.

But Felix’s sparkling eyes and flirty quips have been replaced with something new, something more and Lucy’s beginning to wonder just how safe her heart truly is.

At 9 hours 13 minutes it’s as if they have recorded over a previous recording. You can hear the narrator clearing her throat, laughing and repeating lines. It lasts about 5 minutes so you can’t really hear the story and this is distracting in the background.
Otherwise I loved her first 2 books but this one was disappointing in comparison.

beautiful story and narration but audio overlap on chapter 38 made it difficult to follow

A truly beautiful and transportive novel.

I felt as like I was on Prince Edward Island, I loved every second of this book and highly recommend.

Was all going well until I got to chapter 38 and there's clearly two chapters/recordings playing at the same time and I can't make out any of it. Couldn't find anywhere to report it, only option was a return. Story itself was really good from what I heard so far - am grabbing the ebook to finish but wouldn't advise buying the audiobook unless that is fixed.

Had to return due to overlapping audio chapters

I did enjoy this book but less than the author's other books. The characters were relatable and the setting sounds totally lush, it's on my visit list. Struggled with the last few hours though. The big reveal was an anticlimax and I was ready for the book to be done. When I saw there was still a few hours left I nearly didn't finish.
