Brad Mendoza is an idiot. He knows it, and so does everyone else. A promising naval career down the drain just, because he accidentally killed 504 civilians. So, it's time for him to give up and accept a dead-end command on Persephone, the worst ship in the fleet. Until he meets the beautiful and cunning Jessica Lin, his new executive officer, who harbors a terrible secret of her own. Now, he's in a race to save her and his stupid ship.

But Brad Mendoza is an idiot. We'll just have to hope that he's the lucky kind.

Entertaining short story which moved along with pace. Satisfying conclusion which means that it could stand on its own. Will be listening to next installment.

interesting short story with a proper ending

recommended by a friend as a fun introduction to a series. Moves along well and is indeed good fun but there is an edge.

will definitely seek out the rest of the series.

A lighthearted space romp.

Brilliant short story, with likeable hero's (and anti hero) despisable villians, easy to follow plot and a perfect way to spend a few hours. will be getting the rest of the set.

brilliant narrative

A good, short story, greatly paced. It's refreshing after 18 hour long books that lead nowhere.
The narrator is great, the sense of humor is as well, however this is not a light-headed topic, gets heavy, that should be mentioned somewhere.

Great paced story
