About this listen

Brought to you by Penguin.

Am I a murderer? You tell me . . .

You probably already know my name. Lucy Chase, the woman who doesn’t remember murdering her best friend.

Even though they couldn’t find enough evidence to charge me, I know you all think I did it. That’s OK. I realise being found wandering the streets the next day covered in her blood wasn't a great look.

Believe me, I’m as frustrated as you are. I’d love to know if I’m a murderer – it’s the sort of thing you really should know about yourself, isn’t it?

And now, thanks to true-crime podcast Listen for the Lie, I finally have the chance to find out. But will I be able to live with myself if it turns out it was me?

And if it wasn’t, will digging into the secrets of the night I forgot make me the next target of whoever did?

Perfect for fans of HOW TO KILL YOUR FAMILY by Bella Mackie, NONE OF THIS IS TRUE by Lisa Jewell and MURDER IN THE FAMILY by Cara Hunter.

A thrilling whodunnit that combines dark humour, a gripping podcast format, and a tangled web of secrets. Lucy’s journey to uncover the truth about her best friend’s murder is filled with twisty surprises, morally grey characters, and suspense that will keep you hooked until the very end. Perfect for fans of true crime podcasts and binge-worthy thrillers. I really enjoyed listening to this on audiobook —it’s an easy and entertaining listen!

I'd heard great things about this book but I wad 3/4 in and the story still hadn't progressed. Suddenly Lucy remembers everything in the last few chapters out of the blue?
The podcast wasn't believable for me either, anyone who actually listens to true crime podcasts would never listen to people just gossiping.

dissappointing!

Spent the first chapter thinking I was going to give up on this book. Second chapter in and it became addicted, great story and interesting premise!

Brilliant

This book made me furious and also made me laugh out loud multiple times. It was dark and sarcastic (and the voice in the main characters head sounded like Jennifer Coolidge to me which made it even funnier)
I was half from the main characters perspective and half from a true crime podcast telling everyone else's perspective of her best friends murder.

if you like true crime or like books like "How to Kill your family" this is for you

Best audio book I've listened to in ages
