Curl up with this Christmas with this gorgeous novel of first love and second chances.
One December day, Laura meets Luke...
Luke's in a band. He's going places. But what good is success if you have no one to share it with?
Laura's a summer girl. But, on this winter's evening, has she found her soulmate in funny, sexy Luke?
Under the Christmas lights, something magical begins. But will they still feel the same on this day next December? And the one after that?
Finding love at Christmas is wonderful. But is staying in love - year after year, through the joy and heartbreak - the real miracle?
Luke and Laura are about to find out, one December day at a time...
©2023 Rachel Marks (P)2023 Penguin AudioCritic reviews
'Sensitive, insightful and wonderfully authentic. A beautiful festive love story.' (Sunday Times bestseller Heidi Swain)
'A gently woven love story imbued with Rachel Marks' signature warmth and honesty. Heartfelt, perceptive and very, very human.' (Julietta Henderson, author of The Funny Thing about Norman Forman)
Luke's Dad walked out on him when he was 14 years old but in his 20s Luke's Dad gets in touch by leaving Luke 's child presents.
When Luke eventually gets in contact with his Dad to ask him to meet up, all the father actually wanted was to see his grandchild but NOT build a relationship with his son Luke. I was furious listening to this. Why isn't Luke enough for his Dad!? That was twice Luke had been rejected by his father.
I feel that if you don't want your own child, then you have no rights to want to see your grandchildren.
I love Winter especially December and Christmastime, so I really enjoyed the story of Laura, Luke, Sara & Tom. All babies are blessings in life, whenever they are born. It really shocks and surprises me how the greatest miracle in life can be compared to a job or a career, ffs one of them is a human life, whereas a job you can lose and a career can go down the pan, just like Luke's did!
Nathalie Buscombe did her job very well as narrator, which is not always the case with narrators.
I bought this in the Christmas sale but I still recommend this listen 🌠
