About this listen

Brought to you by Penguin.

Four new friends. Four dead bodies. One big problem . . .

Sally never meant to cave her husband's head in with a skillet. Or at least she didn't until suddenly, she did.

But Sally isn't the only woman in town being pushed to breaking point. When coincidence brings four strangers together, a surprising solidarity is formed.

So can they find the best way to bury their husbands - and get away with it?

Darkly funny and with a big beating heart, The Best Way to Bury Your Husband combines four very different women, one unexpected friendship and several spades in this irresistible thriller.

A well written funny book but also incredibly thought provoking and sensitive.

A difficult topic written about so sensitively giving a perspective few acknowledge.

This is a great novel. It’s original and compelling, Imogen Church is an actor who essentially ‘acts’ books that she narrates, There are often shouty and uneven levels to her speech. This is no doubt the issue that leads to negative reviews regarding the narration. She is always extremely good at what she does. Therefore, I have given the narration 5*. Though, I too prefer a narrator to read to me, not act the book.

Brilliant!

The narration to this audiobook is HORRIFIC! The story could be brilliant, but as another reviewer noted, the narration of the protagonist, Amy and Janie is just terrible! It completely ruined the story for me. What would normally take me a day or two to finish, has resulted in over two weeks (and still not completed) of torment as I cannot listen for prolonged lengths of time.

I never write reviews.

The narration to this book is awful. I enjoyed the plot but was so distracted by the main character. I still hear her peculiar tone as I drift off to sleep at night. Harrowing stuff.

Good story

Funny when abusive husbands were satisfyingly killed, sad when remembering the abuse suffered. What harrowing adventures these women have, and what poignant emotions this story evokes.
