Retired actress Guinevere 'Gwinny' Tuffel is finding life hard after inheriting her late father's run-down house and discovering she's broke. But Gwinny is delighted to be at Hayburn Stead for her best friend Tina's wedding to a handsome Italian business magnate. I liked everything, but the narrator, Nicolette McKenzie, is the soul of the success!

Nicolette McKenzie raises this pleasant, cosy crime story to a highly engaging drama. Her characterisations are really well delineated and she performs the entire book, rather than simply reading it, in a thoroughly engaging way. Some narrators simply read the words, but Miss McKenzie gives them life, which is great skill. She is gifted with a voice that is very easy on the ear. I shall certainly be listening to more of her work.
