The stories are rather slower paced, as is the narration.
I personally found the stories and pace enjoyable - even the haunting is cozy - and perfect company when doing household chores. I enjoyed most of the voices by the narrator. To my surprise the mayor sounded like a whiny brat. That grated on my nerves a little bit. But thankfully the mayor only plays a small part in books 1 - 3.

As other reviews state, the narration is awful. It sounds like an AI narration but is infact a real person who speaks with such a strange cadence and puts on bizarre voices for some characters which overall makes the story less enjoyable than it should be.
The story, however, is a slow paced and light mystery about a (somewhat self-important and meddling) woman who solves small town murders with her friend group and has a friendly ghost chef for company in her newly opened tea room.

Haunted Tearoom Cozy mysteries books 1-3 by Karen Sue Walker

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Ok i got this boxset with the free Audible Plus catalogue so wasn't sure how would find it.

I ended up loving that for change it was a middle aged woman in her 50s that is the main character. There are some very interesting characters that she meets when she has moved to this small town and opens her teashop.

I think what I liked kost at start was that when first saw the ghost of the chef in her kitchen she didn't automatically believe. The relationship between them was really funny as well which kept me wanting to listen.

Each book is search for different murder so could be listened to or read as standalone but already know I will be listening to more soon.

I really enjoy these books, they are slow paced cosy mysteries packed with loveable characters. the story has has a bit of a flaws here and there, but it is still highly enjoyable. lots of people criticised the voice actor but I think she is brilliant! she has a lovely voice and I truly enjoy how she brings each character to life with a different accent
