About this listen

A tender addition to the #1 New York Times bestselling Court of Thorns and Roses series by Sarah J. Maas, bridging the events of A Court of Wings and Ruin and upcoming audiobooks.

Feyre, Rhysand, and their friends are still busy rebuilding the Night Court and the vastly altered world beyond, recovering from the war that changed everything. But Winter Solstice is finally approaching, and with it, the joy of a hard-earned reprieve.

Yet even the festive atmosphere can't keep the shadows of the past from looming. As Feyre navigates her first Winter Solstice as High Lady, her concern for those dearest to her deepens. They have more wounds than she anticipated-scars that will have a far-reaching impact on the future of their court.

A Court of Frost and Starlight explores the far-reaching effects of a devastating war and the fierce love between friends.

Performed by Melody Muze, Anthony Palmini, Colleen Delany, Jon Vertullo, Amanda Forstrom, Shawn K. Jain, Nora Achrati, Karenna Foley, Gabriel Michael, Natalie Van Sistine, Eva Wilhelm, Henry W. Kramer, Bianca Bryan, Renee Dorian, Matthew Bassett, Rob McFadyen, Ryan Carlo Dalusung, Yasmin Tuazon, Matthew Schleigh, Nanette Savard, Dan Delgado, Michael John Casey, Alejandro Ruiz, and Samantha Cooper.

Love it

Ends to story of the two main characters to some extent, and focuses on the entourage.

That background sound is so annoying

Nice to learn about where the characters are after the war but a very odd book that wouldn’t have me itching to read the next one.

Odd

This novella feels like Maas’s attempt to sprinkle a little fae sparkle between heavier arcs, and while the dramatized adaptation is beautifully performed, the plot itself doesn’t leave much of a mark. Feyre navigating her first Solstice as High Lady should’ve hit harder, but instead, it drifts along like snowfall—lovely, but ultimately forgettable.

The voice cast, however, does a phenomenal job. Every role is rich with emotion and magic, bringing more life to the story than the text alone ever could. If you’re a die-hard fan of the ACOTAR world, it’s a cozy detour. If not? You won’t miss much by skipping it.

Pretty, but forgettable fae filler

This is a small novella so I’ve marked it down for story but I loved hearing the book through graphic audio. Everything from people singing happy birthday in all the different character’s voices to the chiming of the bells, crunches of snow - it truly does transport you into another world. Loved this experience!!

Great performance and reimagining of scenes!
