You can run away from your life.

But you can't run away from murder.

When her family tragedy is splashed across the newspapers, Nancy decides to disappear. Her grandmother's beautiful Regency house in a quiet seaside village seems like the safest place to hide. But the old house has its own secrets and a chilling wartime legacy...

Now someone knows the truth about the night Nancy's mother and stepfather were murdered. Someone knows where to find her. And they have nothing to lose...

So what really happened that night? And how far will she go to keep it hidden?

You won't know who to trust in this twisty, absorbing and intricately-plotted family thriller (T.M. Logan, author of The Holiday on The Lies We Tell)
Gritty, real, interesting and clever. Highly recommended (Gillian McAllister, author of That Night on I Made A Mistake)

Beautiful, real and believable. This great story was Jane Corry at her best. Seamlessly covering the decades, I was gripped. Highly recommend!!

Superb

One scene I felt was far fetched. Otherwise I liked the creation of feelings of loss of trust and guilt.

I enjoyed the 2 stories running in parallel

I love how this story begins in the present and then to events in WW2. Highly recommend.

From previous reviews I expected a better story. It’s quite weak. Was ok for a poolside listen but hardly gripping or edge of the seat stuff.

Hoped for better

Jane Corry does it again! I felt completely engrossed in the story and didn’t want it to end which has been the case with all of her books for me. The narrators are particularly good and made the wonderful characters come to life.
I love the twist at the end and can’t wait to chat to someone else who has read it so that we can share thoughts!

Fabulous story and narrators
