Summary
A masterfully told psychological thriller from NUMBER ONE bestseller Valerie Keogh
Perfect for fans of K. L. Slater and Daniel Hurst
His prized possession....his greatest mistake?
From the moment I saw Ann, I knew she was perfect for me.
Her beauty and her social connections would make my miserable life so much better. It didn’t matter that I didn’t love her. I would give her the lifestyle she craved, and she would give me the life I deserved...
But soon my marriage vows were a noose around my neck.
I longed to escape my beautiful, horrible wife.
And then I saw her and I knew there was only one way out…
Don't miss the brand new thriller by Valerie Keogh! Perfect for fans of Shalini Boland, K.L. Slater and Daniel Hurst.

I thought the build was slow and I almost gave up because there seemed to be a lot of "superfluous froth" but I'm glad I stuck with it because everything is apparent later in the story . Loved it!
Well..... I didn't see THAT coming!

This is the third book I have now listened to by this authour and will be looking for another one next!

As for the actual story, it went nowhere for quite some time. There's only so many times I can hear about Jake's crush, how many times he meets with Adam, and the VERY VERY VERY awkward intimate scenes. Whilst the story dragged for 80 or so chapters (I kid you not, there are really more than 80 chapters), all the juicy bits of the book are confined to the last handful of chapters. Even then they had me shouting obscenities in frustration. The ending could have been so very different - I didn't care for the one in the book.
A waste of a credit. Save it for another of her books, preferably The Nurse.
