About this listen

Let bestselling author T.A. Williams transport you to Tuscany in this gripping murder mystery

A remote retreat…

Nestled high in the Tuscan hills lies Villa Volpone, home to renowned crime writer Jonah Moore and his creative writing course. It’s also the last place retired DCI Dan Armstrong expected to spend his retirement! Dan’s no writer, but maybe this break will help him to think about the next chapter in his own life story?

A gruesome murder…

But only days into the course, Jonah Moore is found stabbed to death with his award-winning silver dagger! And Dan finds himself pulled out of retirement with a killer to catch.

Eleven possible suspects.

The other guests all seem shocked by Jonah’s death, but Dan knows that one of them must be lying. And as he and Italian Inspector Virgilio Pisano begin to investigate it quickly becomes clear that everyone at Villa Volpone has secrets to hide…

But can Dan discover who the murderer is before they strike again?

Perfect for fans of Lee Strauss and Beth Byers.

Really enjoyed this book, and thought the characters were believable and has a solid whodunnit story.

More exciting than finding a new author to follow and enjoy is the delight in coming across a convincing, funny, charming Narrator. I love his presentation of this funny heart warming story. I'm off to read the next one.

A-Mazing Story, wonderful Narrator What a Winning combination!

This was the first book I have read by this author and perhaps should have been put off by a description of ‘cosy’ on one website, The main character didn’t seem very real at all. Several of the characters had no substance which made me easily forget their part in the story.

It was easy to read and I did finish it, but wouldn’t read another. The reader was very good for differentiation of voices but, to me, was not a 50+ ex chief inspector. Quite nice if you like books set in foreign parts but normally the interest is in police procedures of other countries but was not evident in this book. All too simplistic.

Too cosy - a holiday read

A well-written, well-paced whodunnit.

Felt like I was basking in the Tuscan sunshine and enjoying every meal.

Nice complication of a simple murder with a cheeky twist in the tail.

I enjoyed the narration, too.

Thoroughly enjoyable whodunnit
