About this listen

Brought to you by Puffin.

From New York Times #1 best-selling author Rick Riordan and award-winning author Mark Oshiro comes a new standalone adventure featuring two of the most popular characters from the world of Percy Jackson and the Olympians.

ONE PROPHECY. TWO DEMIGODS. A HEROIC QUEST.

Nico di Angelo is pretty familiar with the realms of death, being the son of Hades and all. So when a desperate voice starts plaguing his dreams, Nico is convinced it's coming from the Underworld and belongs to an old friend - a reformed Titan called Bob. Then an ominous prophecy leaves Nico in no doubt - Bob needs his help and Nico must rescue him.
Of course Nico's boyfriend, Will Solace, the son of Apollo (the god of light) insists on joining the quest too. But can will even survive in the darkest part of the world? And what does the prophecy mean when it says that Nico will have to leave something of equal value behind?

As Nico faces demons both internal and external, his relationship with Will is tested to its very core. Can love find its way, even through the depths of hell?

Critic reviews

Praise for Rick Riordan,
This is the stuff of legends,
Witty and inspired. Gripping, touching and deliciously satirical,
A fantastic blend of myth and modern - (Eoin Colfer, author of ARTEMIS FOWL)

I loved it so much I've been waiting for so long to get Nico's story and was not disappointed. I'm getting a hardcopy right now.

Such a good book

I missed these characters. The style was s bit different from usual with the timelines jumping around, and with it being tartarus darker themes were to be expected. Nice development of Nico and Will's relationship, though. :)

Happy

I really like this story. Listen to it almost all in one go. It was great to see the characters grow over the story and the action scenes were nicely done. Nico and Will clearly had communication problems at the start but throughout the journey they learnt to be more open and excepting of their differences.
The reading was really easy to listen to but a little odd in places. Not sure if words were misspoken or whether it was just dialects differences but they were glaring at times.

Amazing

Won't even try to sum it up, it's a queer mess and cocoa puffs ✨

Heartwarming

I really like the characters of this book. However, I found the story to be on the thin side, and the timeline a litte hard to keep straight. Not my favorite of the PJ universe, but still a good book.

Great book, but not the best
