I enjoy the story set in the 1850s detective stories with the added of steam trains

An engaging story from the start with good characters and a nice plot. Very enjoyable from start to finish.

Another case for the railway detective!

I am confused. Whilst the story is excellent it ignores the fact that Scotland Yard has no authority in Scotland.

Scotland Yard in Scotland.

Another good story well told. I miss the original readers from the earlier stories. The new readers are goid but the familiarity of the earlier narrator is not there

Another good Railway Detective

I have all these books, and most are great. Very few are reviewed, which is a shame. I have to say this particular one is not the best of the series. Sounds like a contractual obligation book to me. That being said it is not terrible, he is a good writer. It is just not the most exciting of stories. My advice would be pick an earlier one in the series, they are better.

Not His Best
