Upon finding a mysterious note at the scene of an accident, spunky Ann Beddingfeld throws caution to the wind and sets sail for an adventure to South Africa. She gets more thrills than she bargained for when she finds herself embroiled in a crooked diamond scheme, a murder, and in the clutches of the mysterious “Colonel". Written by the best-selling fiction writer of all time (according to Guinness), Agatha Christie.

The story is brilliant but the recording kept changing volume on its own accord. Pity.

Emilia Fox did a fine performance of this early, 1924 Agatha Christie's.
I couldn't even finish this one.
Liking the novel I was looking forward to listening to a newer version.
Awful, and the worst is that now we can't return them to Audible.
If you're new to the novel, get the old version by Emilia Fox. She's good.
This one isn't.

Unbearable horrible reading

Loved the story but the female narrator was not. As with all Agatha Christie novels I was gripped.

Enjoyed Story

I absolutely loved this wonderful story and, despite being an enduring Hugh Frazer fan, thought the narration here was absolutely perfect and did a fantastic job in bringing this adventurous tale to life. I enjoyed every word and found the plot gripping and the characters very well developed. Bravo!
