The epic, definitive story of Sylvanas Windrunner, one of World of Warcraft’s most enduring and iconic characters, as chronicled by best-selling author Christie Golden.

Ranger-General. Banshee Queen. Warchief. Sylvanas Windrunner has borne many titles. To some, she is a hero — to others, a villain. But whether in pursuit of justice, vengeance, or something more, Sylvanas has always sought to control her own destiny.

The power to achieve her goals has never been closer, as Sylvanas works alongside the Jailer to liberate all Azeroth from the prison of fate. Her final task? Secure the fealty of their prisoner — King Anduin Wrynn.

To succeed, Sylvanas will be forced to reflect on the harrowing path that brought her to the Jailer’s side and to reveal her truest self to her greatest rival. Here, Sylvanas’s complete story is laid bare: the breaking of the Windrunner family and her rise to Ranger-General; her own death at the hands of Arthas and her renewed purpose in founding the Forsaken; the moment she first beheld the Maw and understood the true consequences of what lay beyond the veil of death.

But as her moment of victory draws near, Sylvanas Windrunner will make a choice that may ultimately come to define her. A choice that’s hers to make.©2021 Christie Golden (P)2021 Random House Audio Action & Adventure Epic Epic Fantasy Fantasy Fiction Destiny Royalty

This was a excellent listen.

It was my first audiobook and also the first time having any book from the world of warcraft universe.

The narration is superb as it is the same voice actor from the games.

I have played world of warcraft from legion and having played through the game, it certainly helped me picture the locations and characters more clearly.

A great book on its own. I am going to try some of the other books in the series. Very impressed.

Christie golden has pulled off the impossible, not only writing an extremely compelling story which works into wows current lore, but also imbuing sylvanas with so much emotion after knowing her only as a cold villain for several expansions.
The writing and narration both combine to give a truly emotional and heart wrenching account of sylvanas’s life and undeath that had me in tears on more than one occasion, and leant so much more understanding to her actions since WOTLK. It even had me logging into the game for the first time in ages just to visit the locations in the ghost lands, seen in an entirely new light following the first half of this book.
I would STRONGLY recommend to anyone who is reeling from shadowlands lore, or honestly anyone who wants a well written well told fantasy story!

Incredible job with a very difficult task

Really hope blizzard has their actors read more of the audio books in the future.

First half is good! but the rest gets kinda meh. second half drags on more about what's inside her head instead og what she is doing ect.

First half is good, but...

Great audiobook narrated by Sylvanas herself. Filled in a pot of gaps for me as I wasn't 100% on the lore and not sure how certain events unfolded.

Fantastic
