Another fantastic thriller from Hunter-Murray. Love his work. At the moment I’d by his next book at the drop of the hat. Two for two.

The story was interesting and captivating, though I felt the main character switched his thinking and opinions too quickly. I was slightly disappointed with the narration and would have preferred a voice actor to the author (as much as I love AHM's work)

I really enjoyed the book once I got into it but getting into it was difficult as the narration was not great. The material is great so with a proper voice actor this could have been fantastic. I actually started listening months ago and stopped and came back to it. I picked it back up and had to force myself to listen to it but after an hour or so I got wrapped into the story and couldn't wait to get to the end.

Slow starting as most novels are, The Sanctuary takes some time to truly kick into it's focus. Much like the portraits painted in the beginning, the fictional aspect is there to aid the true story beneath. One accurately told from the perspective going through that journey. The person, no matter how young or old they painted to be, is still a person. With their own complications and fine details.
Narration was wonderful, as not to let the next step be hinted towards with the same passion only a creator could have of their own work.
