About this listen

With his wedding behind him, Fred is looking forward to nightly life finally settling down. Unfortunately, someone from his past has other, far less peaceful, plans in mind.

Finding his clan under attack, Fred must scramble to discover who is working against him and how to fight back. Between securing shelter, trading favors, and keeping up with his accounting business, it won't be easy to stay out of trouble, let alone uncover the identity of his adversary.

Faced with an enemy who has no interest in diplomacy, Fred and his friends will have to make hard choices if they want to survive. Choices that could forever change The House of Fred.

Drew is one of the best and most prolific authors of this type of relatable fantasy and Fred the accountant is just one of his brilliant creations.

And Kirby just brings all the characters to life, his vocalisation of Gideon is just sublime!

READ/LISTEN TO THEM ALL!!!! You really won’t regret it

Just gets better

I liked this book. The stories that made it up were fun and I liked seeing Fred's story advance a bit more. The only aspect that bugged me was Fred's passivity. Being 7 books in I know what his character is like but I still thought he was a bit too passive in this book, especially at the end, it's like Deborah's lessons about needing overwhelming strength to show mercy went over Fred's head.

Other than that the stories were nice and the narration was excellent.

This was pretty good.
