About this listen

A caregiver acts as confessor to an infamous patient.

Emma Reed is Ward Sister at a frail care center. When Celeste Harwood is admitted, she is suspicious of the woman’s motives. Has Celeste come to hide from the world? If so, that is not right; her bed is needed for someone deserving.

When Emma sees how wary the nurses are of Miss Harwood, she understands something else is at work. Her doctor arrives and tells a tale of murder, of a woman about to suffer a terrible death, and Emma’s curiosity is aroused.

Fortunately, Celeste wants to share her story....

This was such an interesting premise and I really enjoyed it so different. I am being very careful of plot spoilers.
The narrator was brilliant really dovetailed with the story.
I have never heard of this author or narrator and now I am going to look for more by both of them.
I was given an advance copy by the narrator but the review is entirely my own.

Interesting story great narration

Although short this is a brilliant read/listen. The story had me hooked from the very start and listening to the very end without pause. Emma is a superb character and an obviously dedicated and caring nurse. Celeste is a strange patient who you are attracted to immediately you get to know her and her unusual talent is quite believable. The story is all about these 2 characters and their lives. Celeste needs to talk to someone before she dies and Emma becomes that person. There is a brilliant twist at the end of the book that I don't think anyone will expect. All in all a very entertaining and thought provoking hours listen. Claire Storey does a wonderful job of narrating the book and for me really brought the characters to life. One of my best listens so far this year. Highly recommended.
I was kindly given a copy of this book by the narrator and have pleasure in leaving this honest and voluntary review.

Just Brilliant!
