This is my first book of Sarah J. Mass and I have got to say I loved it. I listened to it whilst walking my dog and the time just flew in. Going to buy the next one in the series on credit day.

Finally, a book I couldn't stop reading

It has similar energy to The Hunger Games- there is action, but also cheesy flirty scenes. If you want a 24/7 bloodbath then this book is probably not for you, but if you want a mix of romance, dystopia, and mystery then this may be to your liking.

The story is a little slow to get off the ground and some of the plot points are somewhat predictable, but overall it’s a worthwhile listen.

I can’t fault the performance. The narrator says the words “foyer” and “buoy” kind of weirdly, but those words don’t come up often enough for it to be an issue.

Very easy to listen to, the story flowed like a stream. The narrator takes you into the story, she's a good actress and pleasant to listen to.

I loved it! I’ve read and listened to the two other series by Sarah J Maas and was thrilled to see the same narrator for this one.

The bc world building is brilliant and this first book in the series really gives the opportunity to get to know the characters who we are going to be sharing the story with over many books. It was funny, heartbreaking and gave many heart in mouth moments. Just brilliant!
