Professor Derek Rutledge is hated and feared by all of his students. Strict, reserved, and ruthless, he doesn't tolerate mistakes and has little patience for his students.

Shawn Wyatt is a 20-year-old struggling to provide for his younger sisters after the death of their parents. On the verge of losing his scholarship, Shawn becomes desperate enough to go to Professor Rutledge.

Everyone says Rutledge doesn't have a heart. Everyone says he's a ruthless bastard. Shawn finds out that everyone is right. He strikes a deal with Rutledge, but unexpectedly, the deal turns into something so much more.

Something all-consuming and addictive. Something neither of them wants.

Note: This book contains steamy M/M scenes and a teacher-student relationship.

My first book by this author and my first in this genre. I listened in one go, something about it just wanted me to know how it all ended. I feel like the end is very abrupt, so 4 stars and not 5. it is not a cliff hanger ending exactly just a very abrupt end. Well written and the narrator was amazing. really enjoyed it and will probably listen to it again at some point. A really nice happy ever after, and a sweet romance.

It’s by far my favourite series, I keep waiting for more. Heard all way more than normal longing for more books of this series and truly hoping it will be the same narrator cause he makes us be there, completely immersed in the story. I recommend the 3 books available! Please, keep written and don’t change the narrator! Cheers

The beginning of a great series

This ticked my boxes, sub/dom kink, older/younger, richer/poorer juxtaposition, possessive nature of relationship and just really enjoyed the narration. This kept me awake all night, but in a good way 😈

Just a bit longer please

Oh I really loved it Josh MacRae is absolutely amazing and I loved them both so much. The chemistry was insane and how they developed was beautiful!!!! Getting the next book was the quickest thing I’ve ever done. Super wonderful ❤️

Unexpected! X

The plot was like that of a porn movie, but if that's what you want then it's not the worst. The character of Sean is ok but there were some odd plot choices that didnt fit character and seemed implausible but my biggest criticism is the narrators voice for Routledge. He sounds like a sleazy Batman. I think hes trying to husky brooding voice but it just comes off as weird, nobody speaks like that and it makes the character almost comedic.

Awful narration
