About this listen

When entering the gates of hell is only the beginning....

Matilda thought her brother had died until Hugh told her otherwise.

He’s still incarcerated, but he’s alive. Returning to Edin with William and Hugh beside her, she’s ready to fight for her brother’s freedom.

Anticipating a battle with bureaucrats for Artan’s liberation, it turns into something entirely different when they discover Hugh’s left the city’s gates open. Their worst fears are confirmed when a diseased stumbles out to meet them.

Entering the national service area might be like walking through the gates of hell, but with Artan’s freedom on the line, what other choice do they have? What they can’t possibly know is hell’s only the beginning.

Over the next few days, things are about to get a whole lot worse....

Beyond These Walls is a post-apocalyptic thrill ride. If you like blistering-paced end of the world fiction where life hangs in the balance, then you’ll love this latest installment of Michael Robertson’s exhilarating series.

the whole part in the asylum with max did my head in. the constant Maaad Max thing made me want to stop listening everytime the narator said it. ok right we get it give it a rest now. that along with the brrrrrrr of the alarm. we get that its happening dont drive the reader insane jesus! the first book had a similiar annoyance where the repetative telling of how William promising he will be the next protector and how often it would remind the reader. i love the story i really do but at times the writing got a bit grating and even now with the Maaad Max thing appearing now and then i want to turn it off at whenever i hear it.

great book. some annoying parts.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed listening to all books from this title so far. Moving along with the characters on their journey. Sadly this is where my journey ends. For some reason the author is changed for the next box set and having managed just 25 minutes of his awful accent and poor interpretation of the characters I’ve had to run in the middle of a horse and end it. It’s a shame I won’t find out if they all lived happily ever after (or even just lived) but I honestly can’t put up with the terrible change.

A good box set ruined by a change in author

Stopped caring about any of the characters. Narration is fine, but why use a narrator with an American accent? "Mum" and "mate" sound a little strange in that accent.

Character arcs made me stop caring
