About this listen

Tales of the Apt is a companion series to the best-selling decalogy Shadows of the Apt (Tor UK), gathering together short stories from disparate places and supplementing them with a wealth of new tales written especially for the series. Together, they combine to provide a different perspective, an alternative history that parallels and unfolds alongside the familiar one, filling in the gaps and revealing intriguing backstories for many established characters. A must listen for any fan of the Shadows of the Apt books, where epic fantasy meets steampunk and so much more.

It was great to spend more time in the world of the Shadows of the Apt and learn backstories of some of the less prominent characters. Most of the stories were very good. Unfortunately the narration was pretty bad.

Very enjoyable

Loved the apt series, absolutely loved every book. Original apt narrator is also exceptional. This book of short stories are almost too short and so feel a bit awkward and dead ended. Makes the whole read a jumble. The three different narrators are ok they just can’t pull off the amazing voices as in the original series

A bit of a jumble

get this if you want to read more about how silly made up military tech beats vague magic every time. also, people are bastards. all with the excitement of reading a shipping list.

horrible stilted and wooden voice actors. war stories from the apt world only, almost no magic. boring and predictable.
