From Booker Prize winner Ben Okri: a deceptively simple modern fable with an ancient origin.

A young man finds himself living among invisible beings who have built a utopia based on one principle: that we must repeat or suffer every experience until we experience it properly and fully for the first time.

Ben Okri is undoubtedly a beautiful writer, but I found this novel’s lack of coherent plot and characterisation very frustrating. It made me feel like all the wonderful imagery had been taken from Philip Pullman’s work, but without no plot to tie it together. Random things happen constantly without any rhyme, reason or logic.

Not to my taste
