Truth: Penn Walker entered my life like a summer storm - dark, ominous, and filled with thunder. After witnessing my husband's murder, I didn't have much of a heart left to offer a man. But Penn took it all. Every jagged shard. Every broken bit. Even the dirty and twisted pieces that I wish never existed.

Lie: I didn't need him to save me. Lie: I knew exactly who he was. Lie: Losing him wouldn't destroy me.

But that's the thing about lies - you never know who to believe.

What a great ending to this brilliant duet. The Truth About Us starts where The Truth About Lies ended, with Cora heartbroken and devastated by the turn of events. But Cora being the fighter she is puts her heartbreak aside to help her girls.
There’re twists and turns aplenty as this dark and gritty story hurtles to its conclusion with shocks and surprises in equal measures. I loved it and highly recommend it!
Fantastic narrators!

This was a good conclusion to Penn and Cora’s story, but it didn’t hit quite the same for me as the first book. The twist heavy plot kept things moving, but the big reveal at the end didn’t have the shock factor I was expecting.

I felt like some of the character depth got lost along the way, and I didn’t connect with Penn and Cora quite as strongly this time. Their personalities came through much more clearly in the first book, whereas this instalment leans more into the suspense and the unravelling of secrets, and I felt that emotional connection was missing.

The pacing also felt a little stretched at times, I’m also not entirely convinced this needed to be a duet, the story could have worked as one without losing much impact, especially with how quickly the final pieces fall into place.

Still, it was an enjoyable read.
