Critic reviews

"G. K. Chesterton's The Man Who Was Thursday is a wacky, nightmarish, deliriously well-written adventure story for grownups in which nothing is what it seems and everyone wears a mask, whether figurative or literal. It's hard to think of a more thrilling book." (Kate Christensen, Time magazine's Summer Reading List 2009)

Very twisty story, full of intrigue and suspense. Chesterton is master of descriptive storytelling, and this is brought to the fore even more so by the wonderful narration of Nigel Peever.

This tale is quite complicated and full of twists, turns and surprises. It has a very descriptive style of writing which at times is very funny and often very clever. It is well narrated by Nigel Peever whose voice brings to life these characters of the past.

Highly descriptive and well narrated

An excellent book!It made more sense once it ended.I may have to re read it.I felt like I do while reading some Neil Gaiman or Pratchett books, totally lost but YES that makes sense!lol I will be pondering this one for a bit.Nigel Peever makes anything worth listening to.His narrations are excellent. I was given this book by the narrator, author or publisher free for an honest review.
