About this listen

Adam Buxton takes a sideways look at some of our confusing modern ideas, and explains why you're definitely doing it all wrong.

Across five episodes he explores the worlds of work, parenting, diet, the environment and family.

Is the idea of a 'dream job' - one that inspires and fulfils us and makes our lives worth living - really possible? Does your toddler eat strictly rationed organic produce, or are they allowed to eat what they want? Does installing solar panels and despairing over plastic bottles make a difference if we continue to jet off on holidays and eat imported guava?!

It doesn't really matter what you answer to these incessant questions, as long as you know that you are wrong wrong wrong!

I love Adam Buxton, so I'm biased, but he makes me, and therefore everyone, who feels bad about the world, and struggles with how ugly it is despite trying their best to make it better, feel a bit better about it.

Makes you feel better in a shitty world

Great to hear Adam talking about anything but quite short so try and get it on sale rather than with a credit.

Good but short

Interesting and funny. My only criticism is the sound quality is awful! Maybe that's just the fault of my sound system who knows. No matter, still enjoyable.

It's Adam Buxton so it's great as expected.

I downloaded this by accident, in as much as I thought it was Adam Buxton's auto biography that he'd said he's working on during his podcasts. So I was pretty peeved to use up a credit on a book so short, but I enjoyed it all the same..... though it being Radio 4 program,I wonder if you could get it on BBC Sounds for free. if it had been 4+ hours of more of the same, is give it 5.

Wish it had been longer!
