So I felt I had to review for any fellow lovers of Jilly Cooper books (certainly the early ones at any rate). The story fits form and is great, I’ve always loved this book and have reread it for joy, humour and comfort many times through my life. This is the first time I’ve tried to adjust to the audiobook. I won’t lie, I couldn’t stand the rather slow narration and agonising accents, I appreciate no reader is going to be exactly as I imagine it but, being a big fan of audiobooks, I am fully aware there are some far superior readers who would have done a better job. That all said, once I learnt to ignore the bits that annoyed me and enjoy the story, it still had the same old magic.
So I recommend if you can get over the slightly annoying recital!!
