Summary
Mistborn: Secret History is a companion story to the original Mistborn trilogy.
As such, it contains huge spoilers for the books Mistborn (The Final Empire), The Well of Ascension and The Hero of Ages. It also contains very minor spoilers for the book The Bands of Mourning.
Mistborn: Secret History builds upon the characterisation, events and worldbuilding of the original trilogy. Listening to it without that background will be a confusing process at best.
In short, this isn't the place to start your journey into Mistborn (though if you have listened to the trilogy - but it has been a while - you should be just fine, so long as you remember the characters and the general plot of the books).
Saying anything more here risks revealing too much. Even knowledge of this story's existence is, in a way, a spoiler.
There's always another secret.

dissapointed it's not new!
Not to detract from the story or the narrator at all, but as i have listened to the arcanum unbounded, this is one of the short stories within that book! kinda feel that should have been stated in the description, would have saved me getting my hopes up for something new!

This isn’t new, it’s just all the mistborn stories from Arcanum unbounded
I love Brandon Sanderson as a writer, but this is the 2nd time I feel I’ve been misled into purchasing a book that I technically already own. The same happened with edge dancer. It should be more clearly displayed that these 2 books are just the stories from Arcanum Unbounded. So just purchase that book & you’ll get this book, edge dance & other short stories in 1 purchase

Difficult not to love Kelsier
A satisfying look behind the curtains.
An example of when adventures in the cognitive realm were cool.

Great Enhancer & Addition to Mistborn
Kelsier, Kelsier, Kelsier. Who doesn’t love some more Kelsier?
It was not only great in filling in all of the little holes left in the first Mistborn trilogy, but also enhanced the original series.
The added depth to the Lord Ruler is nice too.
What’s most strange is the inclusion of Hoid in this story - Is he really a malevolent agent within Scadrial at this time or is that just Kelsier’s unfounded assumption?
Anywho… Hopefully there will be a sequel to this book, given how much stuff Kelsier has been up not only in Scadrial (as shown by Bands of Mourning and Lost Metal), but also on Roshar and probably other planets we’re familiar with.
