Summary

Random House presents the audiobook edition of Your Second Life Begins When You Realize You Only Have One by Raphaelle Giordano, read by Fiona Hardingham.

The international best seller: two million copies sold worldwide! A charming, feel-good and universal story of one woman’s journey from boredom and dissatisfaction to happiness and fulfilment - if you liked The Happiness Project, The Little Paris Bookshop or Eat, Pray, Love, you'll love this.

At 38-and-a-quarter years old, Camille has everything she needs to be happy, or so it seems: a good job, a loving husband, a wonderful son. Why then does she feel as if happiness has slipped through her fingers? All she wants is to find the path to joy.

When Claude, a French Sean Connery look-alike and routinologist, offers his unique advice to help get her there, she seizes the opportunity with both hands. Camille’s journey is full of surprising adventures, creative capers and deep meaning as she sets out to transform her life and realise her dreams one step at a time....

Simple, but nice

Not an overly complicated, but relatable story with good self-help tips.
The only thing I don't understand is why the french accent for the characters? Sure, it takes place in France and the characters are french, but they are presumably speaking french, which is their native toungue and just because it's been translated it shouldn't give them an accent in their "native toungue".
Other than that it's an overall nice listen.

Buddhism for beginners

I’m not sure if it was the slow, clipped tone of the narrator or the translation, but this felt like a YA novel ( maybe it is?). The title suggests it would contain some philosophical musings but each chapter is based around a simplified Buddhist teaching and Camille’s subsequent minor adjustments to achieve it. The book was not what I expected, however, it served to pass a 7 hour long haul flight so it must have some merit.
