Summary
Penguin presents the audiobook edition of Blockchain Revolution by Don and Alex Tapscott, read by John Chancer.
The definitive audiobook on how the technology behind bitcoin and cryptocurrency is changing the world - majorly expanded with new material on cryptoassets, icos, smart contracts, digital identity and more.
Blockchain is the ingeniously simple technology behind Bitcoin. But it is much more than that. It is a public ledger to which everyone has access but which no single person controls. It enables companies and individuals to collaborate with an unprecedented degree of trust and transparency. It is cryptographically secure but fundamentally open. And soon it will be everywhere.
In Blockchain Revolution, Don and Alex Tapscott reveal how this game-changing technology will shape the future of the world economy, dramatically improving everything from health-care records to online voting and from insurance claims to royalty payments. Brilliantly researched and highly accessible, this is the essential text on the next major paradigm shift. Listen to it or be left behind.
Critic reviews
"This book has had an enormous impact on the evolution of blockchain in the world." (Satya Nadella, CEO, Microsoft Corporation)
"What a spectacular book. Mind-blowing in its expansiveness and profundity. It makes me think we're at one of those times in technological, economic and social history where the sky is the limit." (Steve Wozniak, cofounder of Apple Computer and Chief Scientist at Prima Data)
"The Tapscotts have written the book, literally, on how to survive and thrive in this next wave of technology-driven disruption. Likely to become one of the iconic books of our time." (Clay Christensen, Professor of Business Administration at Harvard Business School and author of The Innovator's Dilemma)

Great book
As someone who was a blockchain novice and started by reading another book which was poor in content and badly written I decided to have another go at understanding the subject and bought this book and I am sincerely pleased I did so. Well written and well narrated it is instructive, thought provoking and has lead me to greater research which in turn has set me on the path to a corporate project.

Very waffly
Very long winded explanation of many very obvious concepts. Assumes a very low level of knowledge from the reader.

Takes their conclusions too far, ignorant of basic political theory
There are many complaints I could weite about this book, though I will limit this review to the most laughable observation I have made.
The authors explicitly denounce socialism in harsh (and ahistoric) terms... and then go on to argue for introducing economic mechanisms that are explicitly and fundamentally socialist. Democratic control of the means of production is THE socialist concept, for example, but the authors are obviously - and laughably - unaware of this.
They might want to check the existing literature on exactly these mechanisms that they argue in favour of. Might I suggest they start with Marx? And then maybe move on to Richard D. Wolff? Would be informative.

Very good until last chapter
Very good book until you get to the last chapter where the writes push they’re political agenda upon the reader.

I sadly just heard about Blockchain 6 months ago and not earlier. As I learned about it I had that feeling this is the next big thing. Now thanks to this book I know how will it changes the world and I want to be part of the Revolution!

Blockchain is here... learn why it's important.
I found it easy to get in to and understand the terms used describing Blockchain tech. I now have a deeper understanding of the technology and potential futures usages. If you want to be one step ahead of the curve. understanding this technology is essential.

There's only so many times you can repeat the same
The narrator does his best to inject some interest into this leviathan of a book but there's only so many times he can read the same thing over and over again.
This book should be 1/10th of the length it is... Basically it bangs on endlessly about how blockchain is going to revolutionize the world... yada yada yada
That's more or less it

Of no substance to anyone technically minded
If you are looking for a technical overview of blockchain and viable applications of the technology, this is not the book for you. The authors seem very swept up in the hype without having any real understanding of any of it.
