About this listen

Penguin presents the audiobook edition of Wonder Woman: Warbringer by Leigh Bardugo, read by Mozhan Marno.

She will become a legend but first she is Diana, Princess of the Amazons. And her fight is just beginning . . .

Diana is desperate to prove herself to her warrior sisters. But when the opportunity comes, she throws away her chance at glory and breaks Amazon law to save a mere mortal, Alia Keralis. With this single heroic act, Diana may have just doomed the world.

Alia is a Warbringer - a descendant of the infamous Helen of Troy, fated to bring about an age of bloodshed and misery. Diana and Alia will face an army of enemies, mortal and divine, determined to destroy or possess the Warbringer.

To save the world, they must stand side by side against the tide of war.

i really rnjoy the prose of this book, BUT the story got progressively weaker and incoherent as 'visions would happen without exaplation or context as as a story mechanic. this made tyhe book seem unedited.

I am 10 hours into the book and have had to re start listening earlier 4 timesc to catch the clever hidden plot by the vsions an dpoor relationships with the characters

A very frustrating read and currently one I am not very motivated to finish as I keep ketting frustrated by the pacing, & visions.

the author tried to make more of the friendships tht thext provided either ruining the sense of verisimiltude of the esapce of a good book.

it also feels like the author was given definitive plot points and mechanics and as a result showhorned then into the flow of thestory.

AS a long time DC fan of many many years this si the latest of one of a number bad novels that are clearly csah grabs

incoherant strong story ruins great prose
