About this listen

Aha! Six BBC Radio 4 episodes featuring the king of chat Alan Partridge (Steve Coogan) in a series of hysterically excruciating encounters with guests played by Rebecca Front, David Schneider, Patrick Marber and Doon Mackichan. Also included are two bonus programmes: a spoof behind-the-scenes feature, Knowing Knowing Me, Knowing You, and In Conversation with Steve Coogan. Duration: 4 hours approx.

made me chuckle. hadn't started much in the 20 years since was made. recommend at least a bit of background knowledge to the character.

good all-round comedy

Good to finally have all the episodes in one place, rather than wasting credits on them separately. The extra, behind-the-scenes mockumentary was a nice addition and a precursor to the later tv shows. However, the bonus Steve Coogan interview was pointless, Private Eye O.B.N (Order of the Brown Nose) sycophancy that serves only to blur the line between where he ends and Partridge begins.

great stuff!

Very very funny and easy to visualise. I didn't miss a thing for all chapters except last 2. they were recrded very low volume, I coauld bearly distinguish the voices of the behind the scenes of Alan partridges crew. Some good laughs there when I did hear properly but were spoilt because I had to relisten to portions to get the joke.

all good except last 2 chapters..
