This is Nate and Jewel's love story, that started way before they realised they loved each other.Nate is back home after leaving the army and coming home with a loud of guilt after the death of his best friend and the brother of the woman he loves.
Jewel can't move forward with her life because of the death of her father and brother. When Jewel injures herself and Nate rescues her that sets of the beginning of their love affair. Through each other they begin to move on with building a life together. Great story with side characters who get their own stories. Love the narration from BJ Harrison.

So the story begins with the over cautious Jewel going for a solitary walk in the woods and falling and unable to get to her vehicle , incredibly Nate finds her in the dark.

I honestly didn’t like her character one bit, for a variety of reasons. The worst being her reaction to Nates confession that he was distraught about, yet he keeps on with the over protective, sweet and innocent, some would say pathetic sister.

It felt at one point this book was telling two stories but luckily at the last minute it all came together and they lived happily ever after.

Nates character was great, the families were great, though a bit dubious about the grown men fighting . The narrator was very good and thats why I carried on with it and glad I did as it made good in the end.

But Jewel didn’t do anything for me at all.

A nice enough little story with a hot hero and a happy ending.
