About this listen

Ex-deniable operator Nick Stone has spent a lifetime in harm's way - but when someone he cares for very deeply is murdered in cold blood, he can no longer just take the pain.

A high-level internecine conflict at the dark heart of the resurgent Russian Empire and an assassin's bullet on an isolated Alpine pass propel him from an apparently run-of-the-mill close-protection task into his most brutal and challenging mission yet.

As the body count increases, Stone becomes one of Europe's most wanted. He must evade the elite police forces of three nations in his pursuit of faceless men who trade in human misery and a lone wolf terrorist who threatens to unleash the Western world's worst nightmare.

Vengeance of the most explosive kind is top of Stone's agenda. The fuse has been ignited - but who really holds the detonator?

What made the experience of listening to Detonator the most enjoyable?

It was believable, full of action and at times scary and no I dont want to be SAS or a Royal Marine. I will leave that to the young at heart..... but if you get the chance take it.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Detonator?

Listening to Nick Stone gradually getting his mind back after the crash.

What about Paul Thornley’s performance did you like?

Fabulous ! Even sounds like Mr McNab or is that the real Nick Stone ?

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No but my wife did, when we heard the fate of the little boy.

Any additional comments?

Having listened one evening to Mc Nab at the Tank Museum, Bovington, Dorset. My wife and I have total respect for him. No he's never been perfect but for a young boy, hardly able to read growing up in harsh condtions he writes fabulous stories.. Dont miss this one ! Oh yes and if you should get the opportunity to listen to Andy talk of his life.. you will appreciate every second.
