About this listen

THE 10 MILLION COPY BESTSELLING AUTHOR OF THE GRIPPING DEPARTMENT Q SERIES IS BACK

A boy is on the run from an international conspiracy . . .

Over three years ago, a civil servant vanished after returning from a work trip to Africa.

Presumed dead, his family still want answers.

It's up to Department Q, Denmark's cold cases department, to find out the truth. But what Detective Carl Morck doesn't know, is that the key to the investigation is right here in Copenhagen . . .

Fifteen-year-old Marco Jameson is tough, smart and very suspicious of police. Sleeping rough and hiding in the shadows is his way of life.

But what does he know worth killing for - and will the police find him before whoever he is running from?

If you're reading a review about the fifth book in a series, chances are that you've read the first four, or maybe you're about to start and want to see if the series continues to deliver or fades out badly.

All I can say is that if you liked the first four then you aren't likely to be disappointed by this one. It is perhaps a touch longer and spends a little more time building the story but that time is well spent.

And of course the strong cast of characters that Olsen has built over the preceding four books are as enjoyable as ever. Books that can hold you in a tense state of anticipation while making you smile as much as these do are rare indeed. The narration is excellent.

Bravo!

Carl, Assad and Rose - long may they continue!

I cannot wait for the next one. It is lovely to follow the characters from previous books. My favourite character is Aasad and his strange ways of liking at things .this book is twists and turns ,heart in your mouth kind of read.

Love department q

Dept Q does it again,, Karl moves on with his love life, Rose shows she is human and Assad is camel-tastuc.

Good story, bit far fetched here and there but overall an enjoyable listen.

Now I am faced with the dilemma , as this is the last Steven Pacey narration of Dept Q.. The next book has a new narrator and a lot of the reviewers slate him, so I think I will put this to bed as my last, unless Mr Pacey makes a return!

The Marco effect

Exciting, intriguing and often humourous story only marred by the stereotypical racism of the author towards the African characters.

Superb dramatisation by Steven Pacey

What did you like most about Buried?

I loved once again following the brilliant characters I've gotten to know throughout the previous novels in this series, namely Karl, Assad and Rose, as well as supporting characters.

The narration by Stephen Pacey is absolutely superb, I love how he reads these books, he brings the characters and situations to life wonderfully, with different voices and brilliant intonation.

What did you like best about this story?

The intricately woven plot and the relationship between the main characters.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes although I had to spread it over several sittings due to the length of it.

Any additional comments?

Excellent reading by Stephen Pacey!
