Summary

Ex-SAS trooper Nick Stone is extremely highly trained. Clever, ruthless and very effective, it is no surprise that he is hired by British Intelligence. On deniable operations - one of the most dangerous lines of work. Sarah Greenwood is beautiful, intelligent and cunning - and the only woman Stone has ever truly opened up to.

But now he has been ordered to hunt her down. Hotly pursued through the American wilderness, Stone finds himself at the centre of a deadly game of cat and mouse. He must get to the heart of a terrifying conspiracy theory to which only Sarah holds the key. But will he manage to before the tension reaches boiling point?

Loved the story but the narrator MAKES it!

I've devoured this book. The narrator makes it seem like he is Nick. Brilliant performance.

Not Mcnab's finest but good

Any additional comments?

This was an average read that didn't really grab my attention for much of the book. I enjoyed some parts of it, like when Stone was on his mission and camping out in the forest, but other than that there wasn't a great deal in the way of action or surprises. Enjoyable, but only just! Definitely give it a try, just know that Mcnab has done better.

Love Andy McNab's work. Another gripper

The way Andy McNab goes into intricate detail yet describes it so casually, you get the sense that he's describing things from personal experience, and probably is.
Great follow up to Remote Control, both kept me gripped from start to finish.

Got hooked!

I normally only listen to audiobooks on my commute. That changed with this book and I found myself listening at every opportunity - great follow up to the first story.

Good story, poor performance

I'm new to Andy McNab's work, and enjoyed this story. There's plenty of reviews below, my main gripe here is with the narrator. I cannot understand how people can say how good he is. Maybe they like listening to a choppy staccato delivery.
He keeps putting little. Pauses. At inexplicable points in. The sentence. It makes it rather difficult to get the meaning at. Times.

Good story made great

It’s a good story that was made great by excellent reading. Makes me look for another.

I like Nick,

I like the character Nick, however I found some pieces regarding Sarah a little far fetched.
