After their adventures on the high seas, Locke and Jean are brought back to earth with a thump. Jean is mourning the loss of his lover and Locke must live with the fallout of crossing the all-powerful magical assassins, the Bonds Magi.

It is a fallout that will pit both men against Locke's own long-lost love. Sabetha is Locke's childhood sweetheart, the love of Locke's life and now it is time for them to meet again. Employed on different sides of a vicious dispute between factions of the Bonds, Sabetha has just one goal - to destroy Locke for ever.

The Gentleman Bastard sequence has become a literary sensation in fantasy circles and now, with the third book, Scott Lynch is set to seal that success.©2013 Scott Lynch Epic Epic Fantasy Fantasy Fiction Magic Paranormal Magic Users

Finally getting to meet Sabetha.

This book was clever and engaging all the way through. I love how it kept you guessing throughout. I also loved how we get to know the main characters better and how complex his and Sabetha's relationship is.

Wow!! My favourite so far

A good story that in my opinion doesn't quite live up to the first two books. Lock is frustratingly niave to Sabetha's exploits and it does disappoint at times. I guess it's showing his weakness and vulnerability but can be annoying. Still worth the hours listening and looks to set up a fourth book I can only assume.

A good story that improves the further in you get.

This series seems to go from strength to strength. Anyone mulling of to buy this and the previous two just just do it and you won't regret it.
