Summary
If you loved the first three seasons, you'll be just as tickled by this fourth installment of the wonderfully funny Cabin Pressure. Whether you're a fan of the cheeky Douglas or the hopelessly sweet Martin, there's a generous helping of all the bits you've grown to love.
Stephanie Cole, Benedict Cumberbatch & Roger Allam star in the fourth series of the hit sitcom about the tiny charter airline for whom no job is too small, but many, many jobs are too difficult. By John Finnemore (The News Quiz, Mitchell & Webb).
Run by the forbidding divorcée Carolyn Knapp-Shappey (an unfortunate marriage, namewise, but in Carolyn's opinion, marginally better than Carolyn Shappey-Knapp), her two pilots are the smooth, experienced and almost-certainly-fired-by-a-big-airline-for-all-round naughtiness Douglas, and struggling almost-competent pilot and sweaty man Martin.
All-round help is provided by Carolyn's near-idiot son, Arthur....
Critic reviews
"The more I listen to John Finnemore's Cabin Pressure, the more I think what a stonking masterpiece it is. Perfect in every department." (Philip Pullman)

'Everyone in the car, we're going for a drive...'
By the 4th series, Finnemore has his characters and plots beautifully formed, we know how each will react to any given scenario yet they remain hilarious without becoming grotesques, lovable without losing any of their beastly qualities. The plots are complex yet all easily followed and there is always the sting in the tail that winds up the story nicely. If these plots are based on real life events, then the world of Charter Flights is a very strange and disturbing place to be. The characters have all moved on from the previous series, we now have an idea why Captain Creef has turned out how he has, and just how powerful an impact sitting in the Skips seat can have on your ego. I have often wondered how these increasingly famous actors find the time to make these programmes, secretly I think they clear their diaries to accommodate it.If you listen to this in your car, you'll be going on journeys simply to hear how it all ends up.

Better than ever
Many a family car journey has been made enjoyable by listening to Cabin Pressure. I knew I was on to a winner when my 18 year old son (who usually only surfaces at the end of a journey by turning off his own ipod's music) actually asked if there was a new series to listen to yet. I downloaded series 4 hoping that it would still be as funny and witty as previous episodes had been. It did not disappoint. Brilliantly clever writing, excellent delivery of lines and worth every penny.

Hilarious and better with repeat listening
This series has gone from strength to strength. Each character is pitch perfect and the group work together so well that there is nothing to jar. Arthur should be irritating but is naive and likeable, Douglas and Carolyn duel over the Talisker, Martin gets to be a Knight in shining armour (of sorts), Hercules the Berkules is at his oh so charming best and a snowman ruins then saves the day. Gloriously dotty with what feels like genuine affection between the characters. At the start of each new series I think they wont be able to match the last but have been wrong so far, long may it continue!

Flying High
Cabin Pressure is one of those cultish delights that radio occasionally produces - a group of four key characters, with strongly identifiable personality types, reacting to situations and each other. It's fundamental sit-com, and it has such a sense of delight about it that lifts your spirits on any given day. Cole revels in the archetype "strong older woman" role with occasional hidden vulnerability, Allam is the smooth-talking twister who, to use a line from the show "sounds like he's Stephen Fry's older brother". Cumberbath is a revelation in a comedy role as the neurotic, not-very-good-but-uber-conscientious pilot, and Finnemore, as writer and loveable dimwit Arthur gives the show its infectious enthusiasm
By Series 4, the characters are beginning to reference the show's own mythology - there's an unusual Burling Day (oh go on, go back and get the other seasons too, they're just as fab), Cole's Caroline has moments of real poignancy, Cumberbatch's Martin gets a girlfriend, and there's a surprising amount of what, three seasons ago would have semed impossible - Being Nice To Martin.
Whether you've heard the previous seasons or not, Cabin Pressure Season four is a few hours of laughter that I've found myself finishing, and then starting again immediately, just because it makes me feel so happy. Go on - climb aboard.

still fresh comedy
I got hooked on this comedy after hearing it on the radio. Each character is very well observed and plays an important part in each episode. While the scene for each episode is improbable, the humour and jokes make each episode funny and original. Definately a series that you can listen to over and over again.

A real gem
If you haven't yet discovered the hilarious world of Cabin Pressure then what have you been waiting for? For any radio sitcom with only 4 main characters who spend the majority of their time confined to a small charter jet, you may imagine that the plots would become rather thin. Instead, as your love of the characters grows, the plots become richer and warmer. Cabin Pressure is like a long, luxurious bubble bath with each bubble a new laugh.

Brilliant!
I simply can not get enough of Cabin Pressure. Even on the darkest of days each episode turns a frown upside down. I have been known to laugh out loud in coffee shops, on trains or in waiting rooms so be warned, it may cause uncontrollable outbreaks of laughter.
Each story is brilliant on its own, but by the end of this series I had fallen in love with all of the characters. Their development and growth has been heart warming, and there is even a delightful cliffhanger ending!
Give it a go. You wont be disappointed!

Best One Yet!
Just when I thought Cabin Pressure couldn't get any better, it did! I cried tears of laughter, ran out of breath several times and gasped at the end of the last episode. Honestly, this show is the reason why I have the 'repeat listener' badge in my app, because Cabin Pressure is the one audiobook I actually enjoy again, and again... and, yes, you've probably guessed it - again ;)
Thank you for flying MJN air :)

Fun!
Witty and funny script brilliantly voice acted. Good repeat value.
Caustic but not cruel, silly in bits - it is a 30 minute radio comedy - but the silly can be quite surreal rather than most of the current "comedy" purile pap.

LAUGH OUT LOUD FUNNY
I have all 4 series and I think this is my favourite one. It has adventure! It has intrigue! It has romance! It has a cliff hanger! It has Arthur doing a jigsaw! It's superbly written, excellently acted and every time I listen to it, I laugh at something else. A perfect comedy to lighten your day.
