About this listen

Former Special Reconnaissance Regiment Sergeant Nick Kane always stands by his friends. So when an old comrade is leaned on by gangsters, Nick's only too happy to help. But Nick quickly finds himself cast headlong into a spiral of violence that will take him all the way to Mexico, searching for justice on the mean streets of Juarez - the most violent city on Earth. His mission: Kidnap the head of the vicious La Frontera drugs cartel and get him back to the UK to face trial for murder.

All that's standing in his way is the cartel's four thousand trained soldiers, a corrupt army and police force, and a former South African special forces colonel who has been paid to track him down. It will take all Nick's skill and courage to bring his man in. Moving Target is the gripping new thriller from Ross Kemp.

I would have been impressed if this were a first effort, but it looks like it's his 3rd book. It's listenable, but not slick. He repeats himself too much, and over explains things so the pace isn't great. There were contradictions as well, for example late into the book he describes how he barely gets mobile phone coverage, then a few sentences later says how a mobile phone mast is disguised as a water tower so giving good coverage. Not 'bad' but as I got this from a buy-1-get-1-free deal, I'll not lose sleep over it. I'd be a little dissapointed though if I had used a credit, and livid if I had paid full price.

Good book, well narrated, realistic. Someone said something daft about cell towers, but that is completely explainable if you have a better understanding of the subject matter. I have no hesitation in buying his other books. Well done Ross and Mark. Keep up the good work and please do more.
