About this listen

Only minutes after Abbie Elliot and her three best friends step off of a private helicopter, they enter the most luxurious, sumptuous, sensually pampering hotel they have ever been to. Their lavish presidential suite overlooks Monte Carlo, and they surrender: to the sun and pool, to the sashimi and sake, to the Bruno Paillard champagne. For four days they're free to live someone else's life. As the weekend moves into pulsating discos, high-stakes casinos, and beyond, Abbie is transported to the greatest pleasure and release she has ever known. In the morning's harsh light, Abbie awakens on a yacht, surrounded by police.

Something awful has happened - something impossible, unthinkable. Abbie, Winnie, Serena, and Bryah are arrested and accused of the foulest crime imaginable. And now the vacation of a lifetime becomes the fight of a lifetime - for survival.

Guilty Wives is the ultimate indulgence, the kind of non-stop joy-ride of excess, friendship, betrayal, and danger that only James Patterson can create.

Critic reviews

"A genius mash-up (in today’s parlance) of chick-lit and The Hangover: a Monte Carlo trip goes very wrong." ( Mail on Sunday’s Live magazine hot release)
"This brilliant story of loyalty, betrayal and excess is utterly thrilling – a sun-lounger must!" (5 stars, Closer)
"Must read" ( Saturday Express magazine)

I chose this book because I usually love James Patterson books, plus I think that January Lavoy always gives a fab performance.
However, I found this book very difficult to enjoy. The story is solid enough (although there appear to be a few things left unfinished at the end), as are the main characters; but there is a bit too much translating going on for my liking! I felt that it was overused and distracting.
This is my least favourite of the James Patterson books that I have read/listened to...but nothing bad enough to stop me reading/ listening to many more of his novels:)

Great story, very gripping towards the end. Nicely narrated too! Well worth adding to your list!

This is the first book i have had by James Patterson,I just thought the read up looked so good,it was spot on.This story is really scary to think what if this did happen to you just a mini break abroad with a group of friends turns into a total nightmare, the narrator is superb her french accent just so makes it,this is what i love about audio books you get all the sounds and accents to all the characters brilliant, you are hooked from the start.
