This is one of the better productions of the famous Dorian Gray. A beautiful performance by Glover and McDairmid. Like it so much I can listen to it any amount of times any where. All comes down to sticking to the Victorian theme and the brilliance of the actors. Could not listen to the modern versions which as usual lost the gloss and charisma of the era which makes Wildes plays.

Beautiful Performance

Would you listen to The Picture of Dorian Gray (Dramatised) again? Why?

A wonderfully atmospheric dramatisation. I was moved and chilled, finally touched by Dorian's distress at the end. Memorable.

Which character – as performed by uncredited – was your favourite?

The narrator.

Chilling

I loved it and some wonderful voices I recognised. Highly recommended. Always an amazing story.

Beautifully narrated, clear distinction between characters in their voice and manner. The best bits if radio drama (music, sound effects and characterisation) are blended with Wikde's story-telling. Gripping stuff and much more manageable length than the original.

Hauntingly well-acted.

Classic gothic thriller from Oscar Wilde. Brilliant dramatisation that captures the essence of Victorian times. The cast deliver a first class performance, and I especially enjoyed Ian McDiarmid as Lord Henry Wotton leading Dorian astray - not that Dorian needed much encouragement. Better than the other dramatised versions of Dorian Gray in my opinion.

Classic gothic story.
