Summary
Roger Brown has it all. He's the country's most successful headhunter. He has a beautiful wife and a magnificent house. And to maintain this lifestyle, he's also a highly accomplished art thief. At a gallery opening, his wife introduces him to Clas Greve. Not only is Greve the perfect candidate for a position with one of Roger's high-profile clients, he is also in possession of 'The Calydonian Boar Hunt' by Rubens, one of the most sought-after paintings in the world.
Roger sees his chance to be rich beyond his wildest dreams and starts planning his boldest heist yet. But soon, he runs into trouble - and this time money is the least of his worries.

Sorry Jo I kept expecting Harry to solve it!
Would you listen to Headhunters again? Why?
It was a memorable story, I would find it hard to achieve the same level of interest again.
What did you like best about this story?
Typical Jo Nesbo I was a bit frustrated to find there was no Harry Hole but warmed to the plot a little mind stretching in the technology (although not in the near future i guess).
What does Sean Barrett bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
A good element of pace and suspense.
If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
Just talk to the head hunter, what can go wrong?

Tension, Breath Stopping Tension
This is a story where it's so tense you feel that you want to speed up the storytelling because its so good. The eponymous Headhunter is smug, manipulative, deceitful, but there's always someone fiercer out there in the world. A thriller in every sense; putting the reader right in the middle of the menacing heart-stopping experience - and unbelievably its also make you laugh out loud. After listening to this Jo Nesbo book its hard not to start straight away on another. A good story and good listening.

A terrific story
Despite the main character being an arrogant, psychologically manipulative and thoroughly unpleasant man it's a riveting story. I couldn't stop listening to find out what on earth would happen next. It's full of surprises and exciting scenes. Sean Barrett does a fine job of narrating the story which is told in the first person creating the feeling that that one is listening to events as they happen.

This really is an excellent story A must have book with multi faceted characters which evolve and change throughout. If you like it watch the film its dubbed into English but is well worth watching

A refreshing slant on crime fiction
Having read Nesbo's "The Redeemer", a few years ago, I was impressed by the style of his writing but found the storyline very bleak so I have (in hindsight rather stupidly) stayed away from his books. Deciding to give him another chance I recently bought "Headhunters", to listen to on my Kindle, and now I can't wait to sample more of his wares. It is giving nothing away to explain that the plot is seen from the eyes of the criminal, a slightly unusual angle compared to your normal crime fiction, which intrigued me right from the start. All of the characters have flaws to their personalities, and stature, which makes them all the more interesting when trying to imagine them in the mind's eye. The storyline is gripping and has just the right amount of twisting and turning to keep you wanting the reader (excellently delivered by Sean Barrett btw) to keep turning the pages. All in all a great read (or listen).

Amazing.
What a roller coaster of a read. The surprises always came out of the blue. Iw as amazed that I had been hoodwinked on more than one occasion.

thoroughly exciting listen
I've listened to a lot of Nesbo / Barrett audiobooks and this ranks among the most exciting. a very different style to his Harry Hole novels but in a good sense. I was tricked by the ending too. great!

Excellent
A gripping story full of action and irony as well. Beautifully read as usual by Sean Barrett. He is so good that I have looked up his other performances.

Not bad...not great
It wasn’t a bad story. Good characters as normal from Jo Nesbo but just not up to the same level as the Harry Hole series. But definitely not the worst.
