still one of the best in the series so far.

Good story no doubt. Overall performance of narrator nice but voices he gave to certain characters inconsistent with previous books. Chandalen sounds retarded, Zedd on a verge of death, all women characters (most annoyingly strong ones like Kahlan, Cara, etc) sound scared and weak. if you can get over that it is a good listen.

So very disappointed! I am having such a problem with the narrator’s “re-pronunciation” of character’s names in the series. I know this is a great book as I have read the series and wanted to give the series a listen. I don’t know if I can finish this listen with Kahlan being pronounced a Collin! This book needs to be re-recorded with the correct pronunciation so that the continuity in the series flows properly. I will likely have to skip this book in the series and request a return for this title.
Absolutely annoying to have such a good story and series interrupted by a narrator not being aware of key characters names and how the author obviously intended the pronunciation to be. Such a shame!!!

Overall it was a good book, but the narrator should have listened to the previous books to figure out how to pronounce names and words. It took me a shocking amount of time to realise that Colin was actually Kahlan (Kay-lyn)
