#1 New York Times bestselling author Nora Roberts presents a novel of redemption and suspense, as a woman haunted by the unsolved murder of her childhood friend returns to her small South Carolina hometown....

Tory Bodeen grew up in a run-down house where her father ruled with an iron fist and a leather belt - and where her dreams and talents had no room to flourish. Her one escape was her neighbor Hope, who lived in the big house just a short skip away, and whose friendship allowed Tory to be something she wasn’t allowed to be at home: a child.

Then Hope was brutally murdered, and everything fell apart.

Now, as she returns to Progress with plans to settle in and open a stylish home-design shop, Tory is determined to find a measure of peace and free herself from the haunting visions of the past. As she forges a new bond with Cade Lavelle - Hope’s older brother and the heir to the family fortune - she isn’t sure whether the tragic loss they share will unite them or drive them apart. But she is willing to open her heart, just a little, and try.

But living so close to those unhappy memories will be more difficult and frightening than Tory could ever have expected. Because Hope’s murderer is nearby as well....

“Roberts may have achieved her personal best in this tense Southern Gothic. As atmospheric and unsettling as a Tennessee Williams play.... This is romantic drama at its best.” - Publishers Weekly (starred review)

Would you listen to Carolina Moon again? Why?

It's a bright story about good people.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Carolina Moon?

The initial road trip to stock the shop.

Have you listened to any of Dean Robertson’s other performances? How does this one compare?

Not sure

If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

The past doesn't control the future

Any additional comments?

A great listen where slightly annoying people improve, good people get what they deserve and mostly bad people get their come-uppance. It's a glad to be alive story which triumphs over the dark evil which wins a lot of book time in other stories.

A great beach listen..

The narration makes this story borderline impossible to follow. Love Nora Roberts, but will avoid Dean Robertson in the future. A shame - I normally listen to books multiple times but this one is relegated to the “Nope” pile.

Terrible Narration

I love this story. Have from the first time I watched the made for TV movie of it. Even though the story has some dark themes it is a wonderful read. Full of love and family and friendship. I cannot recommend the book and all its vibrant characters enough (cade and wade are wonderful book boyfriends)
However the reason for less stars is the audio. As I've said I have read the book and watched the movie countless times. I have lived in Progress and fell in love with the Lavelle siblings for over ten years now as it is a frequent re read. But the audio... Not for me. While they tries with sound effects I didn't like it. As I listened I felt like I was being read to by a tired grandmother which was comforting at times but it gave no life no passion. She used the same tone when couple were arguing as they were talking every now and then randomly using emotion and jarring me from the over all performance. It was all bad she does have a wondeful voice but she didn't bring it to life the way the audio for Tribute performer did. I couldn't tell the difference between any of the characters most of the time.
The story was still wonderful. I'm still bursting with love and a kind of bittersweet feeling when the story ends but the audio just wasn't for me. I still recommend to everyone as you will love the story or Tory Cade and Fatih no matter how you experience it.
