We have all loved listening to this story. Despite it set in an earlier age it echoes scenarios common to all childhoods; being different, finding your place in the world, when life is unfair, character flaws, money trouble, meeting people that can help us, being together even though we are apart....

fabulous!

Ballet Shoes is a wonderful story and I would recommend it to the people whom love and adore Ballet.

The only thing I would change about it is the chapters. I would let somebody say ' Chapter one or chapter two.💗💗💗💗💗💗🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷

I love 'Ballet Shoes', but this adaptation is terribly twee. All the characters are impossibly jolly. A poor realisation of Streatfield's wonderful novel.
Update (2018): having now listened to this many times, I utterly refute my previous review and have changed my rating from 2 to 4. It's charming.

Twee, but still a classic

My 3 girls, all under 9 years old, enjoyed this production a lot. The dramatisation was a fresh listening experience after the normal type of narration. It was a great introduction to participation in theatre.
It is mostly just like a radio story. The book doesn’t bring out deep themes or developments. But still enjoyable.

Charming & a good introduction to theatre
