About this listen

Brought to you by Penguin.

Imagine that all around you, hidden from sight, there are thousands of tiny people.
They are four inches tall, brave, stubborn and resourceful.
They are the nomes.

The nomes in this story live under the floorboards of a large Department Store and have never been Outside. In fact, they don't even believe in Outside. But new nomes arrive, from - where else? - and they bring with them terrifying news: the Store is closing down and Everything Must Go . . .

The fantastically funny first book of the nomes, from the author of the bestselling Discworld series.

I think it’s a good audiobook. It’s so nice and exciting. I love all three parts of the trilogy. In summary I think it’s a very good audiobook and I recommend all of the the trilogy.

Great audiobook

Lovely shades of the Discworld to come. Sir Terry was so good at thinking about language sideways. ‘I’ve cracked it!’, ‘have you mended it?’

Part one of the Nome trilogy

I first heard this book, 10 years ago. When I belonged to books for the blind. I am dyslexic, not blind.
I realy enjoyed the book then as I am doing now. The reason it took me 10 years to find, I forgot to write down the title.------ Personaly I love this book and I am looking forward to the next two in the trilogy. I didn't realise it was a trilogy. Last time i had it it must have been an abriged version.Any way its a most excelant book. humorous,

Would you consider the audio edition of Truckers to be better than the print version?

When I was 10 my Mum started reading me this book and I’m not sure it would be too dramatic to say it changed my life. As someone who loved stories but really struggled to read these stories captured my imagination and my sense of humour enough to force me into reading. Now 16 years on, I downloaded them and was pleasantly surprised to find that I still loved them. Compelling and exciting, insightful and witty this is everything you could want from a book aimed at children, but whose appeal continues into adulthood. I can't imagine how anyone would dislike it!

Made me smile from start to finish

I love the work of Terry Pratchett. This is the first of his works that I've listened to/read that wasn't from Discworld. I have to say, I really enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to checking out the next in the series.

The Borrowers but funny and with Gnomes!
