I really like the concept of this story, I also quite like the MC and all his badly explained OPness. the narrator is great with a wide array of voices.

Unfortunately the writing quality leaves a lot to be desired, show dont tell is in this case show AND tell and tell some more. the MC also seems to completely forgot his earthly origins towards the second half of the book.

still deciding whether im going to push through to the second book in the hope that the writing catches up to the quality of the concept.

It's a sound concept; Self obsessed gamer who has no aspirations for his life beyond pulling in bit coin and playing games accidently makes a deal with a demon. Managed to barely survive and then uses the demonic powers gained to start hunting demons.

The issue is not the concept it's the writing. The writing is awful. Pacing is all over the place. Our MC suffers through multiple chapters of badly linked scenes before the story even really gets going and while that's happening every other word feels like it's been pulled out of a thesaurus. Why does everyone have a countenance?!

Honestly skip this and listen to anything else.

i quite liked the mc although he's seriously op.
bad guys were all from one template ... 'i am unbeatable you minnow!' types
everyone is confused and the word 'huh' is definitely overused when the battles commence ... use a thesaurus mate!
if you can get over new enemies appearing for no apparent reason and the mostly unexplained 7 year gap in narrative while the mc achieves his superpowers the story is okay but I'm
not sure I'd rush out to buy book 2.
