About this listen

Settled in with her main guard, Verity has been dazzled by Sithen life and the possibilities of what her world could be and will be when she wins the crown, but life is about to throw her some curveballs she never thought possible.

Prince of the Lotus Courts, Aziz, is on his way to her Sithen, as well as the Salim household staff that has been scattered to the winds, and of course, the rest of her guard. Knowing this Princess Verity is both ready and excited to receive those that are winging to her aid.

But with the sweets, come the sour.

Forces are at work against her and her guard, forces set on both hurting the princess and limiting her guard. Three times she will be tested, three times she will decide if the men she is presented with are worthy of guardship, even with the secrets they hide.
But when an olive branch is extended from two other courts will Verity accept, or will she choose to navigate the waters of High Court alone?

Book two of the Sleeping Court Series.

This one ticks all my boxes, chemistry, heat and world building that is beyond measure. This one may be a shorter book but there is so much going on that it feels longer. Can’t wait to dive into the next one

I’ve already reviewed this book here: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/3008203517 when I read it as an ebook. This means this review is going to focus on the audio version.

In my review of the first audio book in this series I commented on the nature of the narrator’s ability with accents, in that he doesn’t really have any. I think with this second book I’ve either got used to the accents or they’ve got better. I think I may have just sunk into the story more and allowed the quality of the accent to slip away because the narration, other than the accents is good.

I binge listened to this book and it wasn’t that long ago that I read it, I enjoyed it that much. It’s a good fun way to spend an afternoon.

ok I'm gonna be up front - I hate with a passion cliffhangers. that said, what a way to stop! the phone almost got thrown out the window when it ended. luckily I have the next book - so at this point I'm ecstatic! ok the review...... no spoilers, you need to listen/read it for yourself you WILL NOT be disappointed. the story continues at a clip, its engaging (and hot). I'm starting to develop a crush on Joshua Macrae, luckily my husband is ok with this. I believe this will become a go to series for me. to be honest, apart from the abrupt end, I truly loved it. the family are currently laughing at my complete strop. it doesn't happen normally. bravo to all involved, you did incredibly well x

Awaken is an excellent follow-up to Slumber. Verity has obtained her claim of the Sleeping Court; her powers are next on the list. Enemies lurk, and Verity must be cautious against deception. She continues to learn her way around the Court protocols and what it means to be a Fae Princess. Joshua Macrae does a superb job with the narration. Overall this is an entertaining and enjoyable audiobook. I was given a free copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
