About this listen

Holt, a diplomat, and Noah Crane, Israeli master-sniper, plan to walk by night into the dangerous Beqa'a Valley, where capture by the Syrian Army results in torture and death.

It is to find one man: the subject of an act of vengeance by the British, to display their strength in the face of terrorism. But when Holt and Crane are far into the Beqa'a, unrecoverable, their cover is blown....

Great story with gripping tension throughout and a host of sub plots which knit together

Gripping tension throughout

Gripping story, good narration. Only downside is the unrealistic plot and exaggerated character especially Percy.

Great read

Really enjoyed this story well read and great characters, the relationship of the two men developing with no words, but actions really made it good

Original ! And unexpected

Generally liked this book a lot. The story moves along at a good pace and the narrator reads it with empathy for the characters and the storyline. Without giving away too much of the ending, the point where Crane is captured seemed rather unbelievable given his care and attention to detail up to that point. I found myself saying "but he just wouldn't have done that, it's not in his nature". It was the only thing that slightly spoiled it for me, otherwise I would have given it 5 stars all round.

Very good with one minor reservation

Right up to the end I was unsure of the outcomes for the various characters. Heroes and villains were well fleshed out and not all was black and white. Colin Mace is one of my favourite narrators and did an excellent job of defining the participants in this story.

Excellent story and Narration
